Florida Hispanics Support Sex Education

Recent polling found that there is strong broad-based support for teaching comprehensive sex education in Florida public schools. Furthermore, a Hispanic oversample from the polling found that Florida Hispanics support comprehensive sex education in Florida’s schools.

  • 96% of Spanish-dominant Hispanics agreed that it was “important” to teach comprehensive sex education in Florida’s public schools. This was the highest among any of the polled segments with English-dominant Hispanics polling at 86% and Whites polling at 82%. 
  • Both English-dominant and Spanish-dominant Hispanics trend with general market behaviors over their concern of the lack of comprehensive sex education in the public schools and the fact that teachers have not received formal sex education training. 
  • 63% of Hispanics would support a legislator that favored sex education in public schools. 
  • Hispanics supported starting sex education as early as the fourth grade.
